Gabriel Barcenilla, known as ‘Barcenilla’, is an explosive singer-songwriter producing “Timeless” tracks for his fans and new listeners alike. Born in the Philippines but currently living, breathing, and making music in Phoenix, Arizona. This Pop/RnB/Hip-Hop artist will stop at nothing to make his dreams come true.

As a child, Barcenilla was timid and shy. His Olympic chess-playing parents moved him to the States at age six – and, as far as he knew, he didn’t have a musical bone in his body. But Barcenilla was a part of a Filipino family – and, as such, there were plenty of karaoke nights as he grew up. After starting to write poetry, which led him to rap and ultimately to sing, Barcenilla plucked up the courage to sign up for a talent show at his school. He was “tone deaf”, as he puts it – but he fell in love with performing. With the encouragement of family and friends, hard work late at night, and the support of his parents in getting him vocal lessons, Barcenilla began to pursue his dream of becoming a top recording artist – largely inspired by Michael Jackson. “When it comes to something you're very passionate about, don't give your emotions and thoughts enough time to talk you out of something that you will regret in the future.”

Fast-forward a few years and Barcenilla’s hard work is starting to pay off: he’s released two albums, ‘G.B.’ and ‘Scorpio’, as well as numerous singles. Blending pop lyrics with the groove of RnB, attitude of hip-hop, and energy of dance, his sound is upbeat and energetic, but with a chill vibe and silky-smooth vocals. “I am a singer by heart, but sometimes you can catch me spitting some bars here and there,” Barcenilla says. There’s no doubt those vocal lessons paid off: every sound he makes, whether singing or rapping, is ultra-pleasing to the ears. Barcenilla’s single ‘Uno’, brings the kind of energy you can dance to – and dance to it he does, amassing over half a million views on YouTube (yes, he can dance too), not to mention his 75,000 subscribers on the platform. ‘All I Need’, on the other hand, is a hypnotizing slow jam, while infectious pop ballad ‘Timeless’ has been featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Release Radar.

With lofty goals – like touring the world, selling out Madison Square Garden, and winning a Grammy – Barcenilla has a clear direction of where he wants to go, and the die-hard work ethic to make it happen. “Let’s not keep wasting our time”, he sings; it’s clear he’s not wasting a second of his.
